A new initiative being developed for 2012 is for a Yorkshire Group's Quarterly Meet!  Each meet will be hosted and organised by one of the groups on a rotating basis.  It will be an opportunity for all the Yorkshire Gay Groups to come together for a day of fun and activity.  The format will be relaxed and informal and will be a chance to network, meet new people as well as share ideas and resources.  It will also be an opportunity for other people to find out about the group in their local area and make contact.

Each group meeting will be on a Saturday or a Sunday and the first part of the day will be a workshop on a related interest or theme and then a break for lunch and then in the afternoon will be a fun activity or game.

For example, the first meeting, scheduled in March 2012, will be hosted by the Wakefield Gay Group.  The exact workshop or fun activities still needs to be identifies.  However, what ever is planned should be great fun.

The Proposed Dates for 2012

The proposed dates for the Yorkshire Groups Quarterly Forum/Meet are as follows:

• Saturday or Sunday, 24th/25th March 2012

• Saturday or Sunday, 30th/1st July 2012

• Saturday or Sunday, 22nd/23rd September 2012

• Saturday or Sunday, 15th/16th December 2012

Please note, the above dates are provisional, at this stage and will be dependent on whether there are no other events on the same date, for example one of the local Pride events.  The other important point to note is that this is a possible idea and I will be visiting and communicating to the Yorkshire groups to get their feedback on this project idea and their comments.
